Some Trolls have taken to wearing large tree stumps upon their heads. This has, for the Trolls, two purposes. The first being that they sport these stumps as fashionable head wear, parading around with one another to see who has the most fungi. The second, and most important reason is they use these as drinking vessels for mead or other Troll brews.
Baldo, the gentle giant found a particularly excellent stump! He was very proud of it until a small bird took up residence. Not wanting to disturb the creature, he let it live on his head until it was good and ready to take flight.
The stump did not, however, stay unoccupied for long as Little Flitch, a small adventurous Troll, quickly sought to make it his own. He pretended, for some time, to mimic a bird – not wanting his host to realise, but this soon exhausted him. He came clean, much to Baldo’s initial annoyance as the large Troll wanted his drinking vessel back. However, after some time and grovelling on Flitch’s part, the two became firm friends and Baldo’s consumption of alcohol has greatly reduced!
